Why Escapement

What Sets Our Approach Apart

Open Communication

You're kept in the picture throughout. No work begins without a clear discussion of what's needed and why.

Written Documentation

Every service produces a written record — what was done, what was observed, and what to watch for going forward.

Appropriate Tools

Dedicated watchmaking equipment suited to the scale of each job — from simple adjustments to complex multi-function movements.

Preservation Focus

Original parts and finishes are preserved wherever possible. Replacements are discussed and agreed before any action is taken.

Realistic Timelines

Timeframes are given honestly at intake. Complex work takes time, and we'd rather set clear expectations than rush a result.

Accessible in Khon Kaen

A dedicated workshop on Mittraphap Road — easy to reach from central Khon Kaen, with in-person consultations available by appointment.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked

How do I know if my watch needs a full service or just an adjustment?

A useful starting point is the Accuracy Check & Adjustment — it gives a clear picture of what's happening inside the movement without committing to a larger service. After the assessment you'll have enough information to make a well-informed decision about whether more work is worthwhile.

Do you work on all watch brands?

We work on most mechanical and automatic movements from a wide range of manufacturers. When you get in touch, share the make, model, and any relevant history — we'll confirm whether we're the right fit before you bring anything in.

How long does a full chronograph service typically take?

Chronograph servicing usually takes four to eight weeks depending on parts availability and the movement's condition at intake. We give a timeframe at the beginning and update you if anything changes during the work.

What does "museum-grade" restoration actually mean in practice?

It means the work prioritises keeping the watch as close to its original state as possible. Nothing is polished that was not originally polished; original parts are retained unless they are beyond safe use; and any necessary replacements are sourced to match period specifications. It's the approach used for watches of genuine sentimental or collectible value.

Are the prices listed all-inclusive?

The prices shown are starting points for each service category. If parts are required, those are quoted separately and agreed with you before any ordering takes place. There are no charges you haven't specifically agreed to.

Can I send my watch by post from elsewhere in Thailand?

Yes, though we ask that you contact us first so we can advise on safe packing and confirm the service scope before anything is shipped. This helps make sure the watch is appropriate for the work you have in mind and reduces unnecessary handling.
